Terra and The Fair

Date: December 9, 2021

I am in a house that is rather old and in need of fixing up, but it has a decent size backyard with plenty of potential. My parents also live there. My friend (Terra) is there visiting and we decide to go check out the local fair that is going on in this small town where we live. So my mom, my brother (Daniel), and I go to check it out. I am driving us in my parents old brown Ford Econoline van.  

We get to the fair and my mom wants to see an old classic movie that is playing, so we walk with her to where it is playing. We notice all the people from town coming in through the front gates. We walk past a pavilion where we here Sting playing a concert and make our way to the where the movie. Mom goes in and Terra and I decide not to go but will pick mom up in a couple of hours. We decide to go to Costco to pick up a few needed items. We go and get back to the house and Terra is in the back taking a nap so Daniel and I unload the car. 

As we do, I see dad in the garage doing some work and I ask him why the lawn mower is out and he says to come look at the backyard. I see that there is water covering our yard and comment on how extremely high the tide is. He says "yes",but draws my attsntion to the big hole he has dug to keep the water in the yard. I tell him that I am concerned that keeping standing water in our yard will draw mosquitoes. He is not concerned, but I request that we work together on the best plan for the back yard moving forward. He agreed.  

Meanwhile, I ask Daniel to sweep the garage as there is a lot of leaves, dirt, and some trash all around. As he does, I notice an old brown leather couch, and other old items in the garage. I see a lot of potential in what the garage could become. I see an upper level that can be used for so many different things. As I continue to look around I see that this garage is poorly made and is an add on to the house and more of a carport than an actual garage. 

Terra wakes up, we decide to go to the beach. My sister (Sarah) comes out of the back room. She has just woken up as well and is bummed that she missed the fair. Terra and I have an hour to explore. While out and about, I get lost in the back streets. I end up on a farm and after going through many different fields and alleys I finally find the exit.
