Old Car, New Road

Date: September 17, 2021

I was driving from Santa Rosa to Rohnert Park, CA (the area I lived growing up). I am in my old car (a white Dodge Dart). I was trying to merge onto the freeway, but there was a car in front of me blocking my view so I couldn't see if I was clear to get over or not. First, I accelerate and quickly merge into the turn lane to get into position to merge onto the highway. I notice that there are a lot of cars suddenly on the road and I had just been able to squeeze in without getting into an accident. I think to myself, wow, this car has a lot of power and is able to go quite fast if needed (in real life the car had a small engine didn't go very fast).

As I approached the merge lane to get onto the freeway the car in front of me that was blocking my view merged and finally I could see clearly and realize that there was too much traffic and I am not able to get onto the freeway. Just then I look ahead and see that I am approaching an exit and since I can't merge onto the freeway I just keep going and eventually exit the freeway. As I do, I notice that there is an immediate U-turn that would allow me to go back. However, I also see that a new road has been built and I can actually get to where I am going using this new road.

Scene Change:

The dream changes and now I can see my family and friends waiting for me in a parking lot in front of a large movie theater. This is where I am supposed to be and they are all there already. I hear my brother say "it is alright, he is on his way and will be here soon. I am tracking him via his GPS and he is close".
